SO HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?

"We have used Meera to design our kitchen and utility with us, as well as to advise on multiple aspects of our whole house renovation in Oxfordshire. She has an incredible eye for detail, is extremely knowledgeable, has a gorgeous sense of style and is great at coming up with ideas and guidance to help achieve the look, feel and functionality we are looking for.
We would not hesitate to recommend Meera as someone who is straightforward to work with, gives great ideas and advice, and can take on as much or as little of your design needs as you wish - from fully designing your home with you, to hour-long consultations. Her fees are reasonable and offer good value for money compared to making expensive mistakes which you then pay contractors to change. She was also able to pass on some trade discounts for us which we are very grateful for.
My recommendation would be to engage her at the same time as engaging your architect to get the full benefit of her advice and experience."- F. Hewitt
ROOM DESIGN
The room design service delivers professionally designed spaces with every detail carefully thought out. It includes a comprehensive pack of detailed drawings and information, eliminating uncertainty and making implementation smoother for you and your contractors. The design pack for each room includes:
- dimensioned room layout with furniture placement
- 3D visualisations of the space in colour
- electrical and lighting plan
- cabinetry plan in the case of a kitchen or utility
- specifications for bespoke joinery if required
- other technical drawings as required

The design process for both Nottingham based (in-person) and e-design projects is very similar, with the exception that in-person projects have access to these optional additional services:
- Site survey - if dimensioned plans are unavailable
- Site assistance - to oversee the design implementation
All room designs - from small rooms like a WC, through to large open plan spaces with different zones and multiple joinery aspects - are priced on a fixed fee basis (excluding additional services).
Price: from £1,250.00 per room, depending on room type, scope of design and your requirements.
DESIGN CONSULTATION
If you are stuck on the direction to take for a room, feel unhappy with a kitchen or bathroom design that has been done for you by your supplier, or aren't sure if your architect plans will give you the space you dream of, a consultation is the perfect service to help you move forward with your project.
A 2 hour consultation includes 1 hour for the designer to assess the information you have provided and come up with considered creative solutions, followed by a 1 hour video call to discuss it all, and finally, delivery of any images, sketches or layouts discussed during the call.
Examples of what can be covered in a 2 hour consultation:
- redesign of a kitchen or bathroom 2D layout with ideas for the colour scheme and recommendations for product sources
- high level colour schemes for several rooms
- reviewing and improving your building plans to make better use of space for how you would like to live in your home
If you would like further support or additional work following a consultation, this can be scheduled on an on-demand basis.
To make the most of the consultation, please provide information such as plans/layouts, inspiration images or Pinterest boards, photos of the room(s) if applicable, your thoughts (likes/dislikes), and a bullet point summary of what you require from the consultation. Large files can be shared via WeTransfer, Dropbox or Google Drive.
Price: 2 hours @ £400.00
Further consultation time, if required, is priced at £175.00 per hour.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
I've never worked with an interior designer before. Where do we start?
The easiest way to begin is by completing the questionnaire on the Contact page. This form captures the information required to assess your project and your needs. Once I have a better understanding of what you're looking for, we'll discuss how we can work together.
Which areas do you cover?
All of the UK. If you require an in-person service, this is available to clients based in Nottingham. For clients outside Nottingham, communication is online, and in the case of a building project, we generally work from architect plans that you provide.
How do I decide which service is right for me?
It all comes down to your project needs and how much hands-on support you’d like. If you're looking for a full room design with the details meticulously thought out - from spatial planning, functionality and electrics, through to colours and textures that work harmoniously - then the Room Design service is ideal. This service involves close collaboration between us throughout the process. It provides detailed technical drawings, specifications and other essential information to guide you and your contractors. With these resources, you can confidently bring the design to life, ensuring a space that is both stunning and practical. No guesswork or head-scratching required! Clients in Nottingham also have access to the optional Site Assistance service where I liaise with contractors and oversee the key stages of the design implementation to ensure the details are executed as planned.
On the other hand, if you feel comfortable managing the design and project work but could use professional guidance to solve specific dilemmas - such as how to make your space work better for you or choose the right colours and materials - then a Consultation is perfect. This flexible, on-demand service provides the support you need exactly when you need it, helping you navigate those tricky decisions with confidence and ease. It also allows you to pick and choose specific design work that you'd like to commission on an as-needed basis.
What if I'd like to proceed with a Room Design after a Consultation?
If, after our initial consultation, you’d like additional services such as a 3D visualisation of the space or joinery design for a bespoke media wall, these can be added as further consultation hours. This flexible approach allows you to explore more specific elements of your project as and when you require.
However, if you decide that a more detailed and comprehensive design would be beneficial, transitioning to a room design service is simple. This often happens when clients initially book a consultation to review a design provided by a kitchen or bathroom company that doesn't feel quite right, or to assess whether their architect's plans will meet their needs. After discussing your space and exploring new ideas, you may feel that a full room design is the best way to achieve your goals.
In this case, we’ll discuss the next steps and sign a Service Agreement which details the project scope, timeline and terms of the project. This approach builds on our initial discussions to develop a design that fully realises your dreams for the space.
How long does the Room Design process take?
A design process typically takes 2 - 5 months, depending on the size and scope of your project, and your specific requirements. The process is structured in stages, starting with confirming your brief, then addressing the practicalities for your rooms, and finally moving onto the exciting part of selecting colours, materials and products. Close collaboration helps us to stay on track and ensure the designs come together smoothly.
Can I make changes after the design is completed?
We work closely together throughout the design process, with each stage requiring your input and approval before moving forward. This collaborative approach ensures the final designs are tailored to your preferences and needs, thus minimising the need for revisions.
That said, it's no problem if you change your mind about a small detail or two after a stage has been approved. A couple of minor tweaks are fine and can be accommodated. However, more substantial alterations that require additional work would be chargeable. This ensures that the design continues to meet your requirements while respecting the project's scope and timeline.
What if I only need help with one room?
No problem at all! Whether you opt for a consultation or a room design service, both are flexible and can be tailored to any size of project - from a small downstairs WC to a large-scale renovation of multiple rooms. All projects, no matter the size, receive the same level of attention and detail.
