Goodbye 2017

Have you noticed a few changes around here? I’ve been beavering away behind the scenes to improve this blog and give you a better reading experience. No more of those annoying unwanted ads that flash at you and interrupt your reading, hooray!

I’ve decided to invest in this blog because my readership has grown beyond expectations this year, which makes my heart so so happy 😊. My aim for this blog has always been, and always will be, to write about things that I hope you find beautiful, interesting, useful and inspiring. I’m happy with any growth, as long as it is meaningful and organic, so that I am known for what I do rather than because I shout the loudest (I’ll never be one of them). So a really big thank YOU for joining me this year in whichever way you have. I appreciate it more than you can know.

I have more work to do on this blog to get it ready for the start of 2018 (including a rebrand – eek!), so I’ll have to steal moments away from Christmas TV and mince pies to actually work. But I don’t mind, I’m not very good at just relaxing 😂. From January, I will be getting a bit of regular child-free time for the first time since having kids so I need to make sure this time will be productive. There are many ideas whirling around in my head, so while the boys play Lego, I’ll be having some quiet time to make sense of these ideas, and turn them into plans.

Also, you may have heard me mention in passing that we are planning to extend and renovate our home. 2018 is the year that we finalise these plans… exciting!! Our budget is not going to be big so I’ll have to keep my creative cap on (it never comes off, to be honest). If you know me, you’ll know I don’t usually go for conventional options. I’ll have lots to talk about and I have no doubt I’ll be asking for your advice and opinions when I am facing a design dilemma, so I hope you’ll continue to join me next year.
